To celebrate Nelson Mandela day and in following the theme – “Take action; inspire change; make every day a Mandela Day” – the University of KwaZulu-Natal spent their 67 minutes embarking on numerous activities around the city.

The Corporate Relations Division (CRD) together with CHOC and the Golden Key Society brought smiles to kids living with cancer at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital’s Oncology department.

Activities included donations of food, a tea party and games that kept the kids entertained. CRD has invited staff to participate in one of the activities listed.

In trying to show that giving back is something that should be done everyday, Mandela Day activities began on Monday and will continue for the next two weeks.

Later today, CRD will be visiting Othandweni Children’s home to assist children with homework and donate clothing.

A programme of the rest of the activities can be found at: Mandela day Programme
